What do you do at NDSC?
I am the Workplace Safety Program Manager. I help many kinds of companies find solutions to their staffs’ safety needs. I have an entire team of trainers spread out all over the state who are true masters of their trade. I have the pleasure of getting them in front of as many people as possible.
My background prior to the NDSC was in leadership, sales, and wellness. I feel like all those experiences were the perfect recipe to get me in the door here, and the team I work with is outstanding. I am lucky!
Why is NDSC’s mission to prevent injuries and save lives important to you?
Everyone goes to work expecting to safely come home that night, but that doesn’t always happen. It was an easy choice to get behind a company that is all about getting more Americans home safe every day. It’s an honor to be a part of a company that is 100% dedicated to that cause.
Favorite singer/band/song?
Led Zeppelin, no contest there.
Name one interesting thing about yourself.
I collect vinyl records. I started when I was about 15 years old. I have around 200 vintage records and two record players. I am always looking for new additions so if anyone has an old milk crate in the basement with a few gems, let me know!
What store would you pick to max out your credit card?
Scheels. What’s my credit limit?
What are your hobbies?
Biking, snowboarding, boating, hiking, kiting, fishing, eating, playing my guitars, shutting off my phone for a weekend and enjoying the disconnect. Traveling, but also doing nothing.
If you could travel anywhere, where would it be and why?
Greek Islands, without a doubt. A friend of mine went and lived on a sailboat for two weeks, toured the many islands, ate tons of the best foods, and spent lots of time in the sun and water. That’ll work. Might not come back from a trip like that.
Biggest pet peeve?
Those who live their entire life through their phone. Put it down, the view is great my friends.
If you were a superhero, what would your powers be?
Powers? So more than one…okay, that’s awesome. I want the ability to fly. As much as I love cars and all things motorized, to be able to say, “hey guys, I am heading home” and just take off. Now that is convenience. If I could choose another one it would be time travel. I can think of a few people’s brains I would like to pick. Final power would be to master all musical instruments…that would open some doors. That one I could actually make happen, I just need longer weekends!
