NDSC to host Run4Change
This year marks the 10th Annual Run4Change, and registration is open. The event will take place Saturday, October 1, 2022. The Run4Change honors the Deutscher Family, a young family tragically killed on July 6, 2012. The family was killed by a drunk driver whose blood alcohol was over three times the legal limit. Alcohol is a factor in 41% of fatal crashes in North Dakota, and the fix is something we can all have a hand in. Don’t drink and drive, call for a sober ride.
“We don’t want the kids just remembered as the victims of a drunk driving accident. We want to remember them for what they were. Contributing members of society. They were vibrant athletes and what better way to remember them, than with a run.”
The family and friends of the Deutschers developed the run as a way to create change, hoping to shift people’s perception of drinking and driving. Hundreds have supported the cause over the years through volunteering and participating in the walk and run. The North Dakota Safety Council uses funds raised through the event to encourage safer choices and educate people statewide about the dangers of drinking and driving.
We can’t do this without your help. Choose to sponsor the event or donate to the cause. Pledge your time to walk or run. Your support makes an impact.
