Alcohol Facts
Foods high in protein and carbohydrates slow the effects of alcohol (think foods such as meat and cheese).
Binge drinking for men is defined as having 5 or more drinks on a single occasion. For women, it is 4 or more drinks.
Individual reactions to alcohol vary and are influenced by many factors, including age, weight, fitness level, race, gender, amount of food consumed before drinking, and how quickly the alcohol was consumed.
Taking a shower, drinking coffee or eating will not help you sober up. The only thing your body needs is time – depending on your weight, it takes about three hours to eliminate every two drinks you’ve had.
