Some professions require people to come in contact with people in stressful situations. De-Escalation Training is a method to prevent potential violence. Individuals are shown how to use purposeful actions, verbal communications, and body language to calm a potentially dangerous situation. Your safety and the safety of others is the highest priority. Attendees will learn both verbal and non-verbal clues and techniques to reduce the risk of violence.
This 2-hour session focuses on the following:
1. Situational awareness and how to reduce risk by being aware of possible conflict scenarios within the work you do.
2. How do distinguish between people who are simply angry and people who can be potentially violent.
3. If you do find yourself in a hazardous encounter, what steps can you take to defuse the situation and best practices for personal protection and safety.
Workplace and daily stress are at an all-time high. In an NSC survey, 22% of workers reported being exposed to workplace violence. Give your supervisors and employees training that will be useful in all aspects of their lives. The North Dakota Safety Council’s De-escalation Training is a crucial course for employees’ well-being and helps minimize risk and liability. Training Director Don Moseman calls the training “absolutely vital.”
“Workplace violence can happen anywhere. From a disgruntled employee being fired to a patron assault to an active shooter, dangerous situations happen in every industry, and it should be a part of employee training and emergency action plans.”
