DROWNINGS
National:
- Drowning is the number one cause of death for children ages 1–4.
- For children ages 5–14, drowning is the second leading cause of unintentional injury death after motor vehicle crashes.
- 4,000 people die from drowning in the United States each year. That is an average of 11 drownings per day.
